There’s a reason why Cinque Terre is one of the most romantic destinations to visit. Cinque Terre is really a string of 5 different villages along the Italian Riviera (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Riomaggiore, Manarola, and Corniglia)…each of them offering different views and personality. Secluded. Coastal. Seafood. Colorful. Whimsical. These are just a few words that come to mind when I try to describe Cinque Terre. It’s one of my favorite places to visit and I urge you to experience the place yourself!
Here are 10 photos that will make you want to visit Cinque Terre…now!
- This photo of the beaches of Monterosso al Mare. We snacked on olives and nuts while enjoying a glass of Aperol Spritz on the boardwalk of Monterosso. It was the perfect way to pass some time!
- This photo of Vernazza, taken while on the hike from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza. Who doesn’t love colorful buildings?
- This photo of the Il Gigante statue (upper right corner) on the beaches of Monterroso al Mare.
- This photo of a fresh plate of bufala mozzarela, tomatoes, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The perfect refreshment after a long day of hiking! The bufalo mozzarela in Italy is divine and extra creamy.
- This photo from the hike from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza. Here, I am feeling on top of the world.
- This photo of a hidden church, nestled in the hills of Riomaggiore. Swooning over the pink and yellow faded paint….
- This photo taken from the seaside, looking up towards Riomaggiore. How cute are the green shutters on the buildings?
- This photo of Corniglia, from afar.
- This photo showing the charming assortment of ‘peach-colored’ buildings in Manarola.
- This photo of the hills of Riomaggiore. Nothing beats being surrounded by lush olive trees, colored buildings, and the scent of lemons.
